A musical journey heard through the fabric of old buildings, composed and performed by Roger Mills.

Imagine putting your ear to the wall of an old building and being able to listen to a soundtrack of conversations and events long past.

As the years move on they slow down and dissipate, morphing with each other to form a collage of sound and rhythm. Each recent sound added to this layer creates a new and original combination, some are still audible, others loop round as they fade away into time.

Walls Have Ears was first performed at Bridport Arts Centre in December 2000 as part of swipe 2000, commissioned by PVA.

Thanks to Joe Magee at Periphery for his original artwork for Walls Have Ears and Neil Jenkins at devoid for the video accompaniment.
